  • Lead Pastor

    matt west

Pastor Matt has been serving as Lead Pastor at Roswell First Church of the Nazarene since March 2026. With over 15 years in ministry, he has faithfully served in a variety of roles, including Lead Pastor in Oklahoma, Youth Pastor in Oklahoma, Oregon, and Washington, and on staff at three Nazarene District campgrounds. His ministry experience reflects a deep passion for discipleship, leadership development, and helping people grow in their relationship with Christ.

In addition to his local church ministry, Pastor Matt has been actively involved in camp and retreat ministry, helping create spaces where individuals and families can encounter God in meaningful ways. He has a heart for building strong church communities, investing in the next generation, and equipping others to live out their faith in practical ways. He especially values opportunities to connect with people, hear their stories, and walk alongside them in their spiritual journey.

Pastor Matt is married to Holly, who serves alongside him in ministry, particularly in worship. Together they have one son, Walter. He also has two daughters, Nora and Laney, who live in Oklahoma. Family is a central part of his life and ministry, and he treasures the time they are able to spend together.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education from Southern Nazarene University in 2009. He continued his education at Nazarene Theological Seminary, where he completed a Master’s degree in Christian Formation and Discipleship in 2012, along with a Diploma in Youth Ministry.

In his free time, Pastor Matt enjoys being with his family, spending time outdoors, and discovering the unique places and experiences his local community has to offer.

    Pastor Janice Forgach

Pastor Janice has served at Roswell First Church of the Nazarene as Pastor of Prayer and Pastoral Care since April 2015.  Roswell, New Mexico, has been a big adjustment for her, as her roots are from Chicago, but she has come to love the New Mexico people and desert.

She has a grown daughter who owns  a small business in Chicago and a grand-daughter who also lives in Chicago, who is exploring life.  She has one sibling, a brother, who married a girl from England and they reside in New Castle, England.

She has a passion for Jesus and people.  She is a prayer warrior.  She loves to cook and knit in her spare time.

  • worship & creative arts director

    holly west

Holly grew up in the shadow of Pike’s Peak in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where her love for music, creativity, and the local church began to take root at an early age. Serving with her parents and two brothers in a small Wesleyan church throughout her childhood, Holly learned the value of both leadership and collaboration—qualities that continue to shape her approach to ministry today.

She attended Oklahoma Wesleyan University and earned a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Worship Arts, blending her passion for teaching with her heart for worship. Holly spent six years in the classroom teaching a variety of grade levels from Preschool through 5th grade, with a special love for 3rd grade. Her time in education helped her develop a deep appreciation for creating engaging, meaningful environments—something she now carries into every aspect of her ministry.

Holly now serves as the Worship and Creative Arts Director at Roswell First Church of the Nazarene, where she is passionate about cultivating authentic, Christ-centered worship experiences. She oversees and leads worship services, coordinates creative elements, and invests in building and discipling teams of musicians, vocalists, and creatives. Holly has a heart for helping others use their gifts to glorify God and strives to create spaces where people can encounter Him in a real and personal way.

In 2022, Holly married Matt West, and together they recently welcomed their first child. Becoming a mom has been her greatest joy and has deepened her faith and perspective in beautiful ways.

A fun fact about Holly is her love for music extends beyond leading worship—she can play several instruments, including the piano, guitar, mandolin, and banjo. Whether on stage or behind the scenes, Holly brings creativity, passion, and a genuine love for people into everything she does.
